GP-US932

3CCD HD Colour Micro Camera

The first Panasonic 3CCD remote head camera with true (16:9) 1080i or 720p high definition.

Genuine 16:9 High Definition (HD) quality is now achievable with Panasonic's new micro camera system, the GPUS932.

Until now, only the customary standard resolution has generally been available for applications in the medical, research or industrial sectors. But with this new addition to the Panasonic product range, images can now be captured in genuine HD quality. The new GPUS932 camera system offers a level of quality that was virtually impossible to provide cost-effectively in previous micro cameras. As well as HD format, the classic SD format is also available.

At 37 x 47 x 60 mm, the new GP-US932 is astonishingly compact. The developers at Panasonic set out to achieve maximum quality on the smallest possible scale. The micro cameras therefore feature a camera head that is connected by a cable. It contains integrated high-tech components that ensure virtually loss-free digitisation of the video signal with a resolution of 3 x 14 bit. The signals are processed in the controller unit with a bandwidth of 3 x 19 bit. .

Panasonic systems feature digital HD-SDI and HDMI interfaces for enhanced signal quality. They allow digital video signals to be transmitted over long distances and video signals to be converted easily to DVI with virtually no degradation in quality. Thanks to various connection options, the system can be flexibly used, for example, in both the medical and industrial sectors.

Big on sharpness and dynamics

Thanks to the High Definition quality of the GP-US932 system, accuracy and evaluation reliability are significantly increased. The professional micro camera with a 3CCD image sensor is compatible with both 720p and 1080i formats. The quality of the images captured using micro cameras from Panasonic's GP-US932 series is therefore markedly higher than previously possible.

The smallest level of detail can be closely examined thanks to sharp, flicker-free images. Progressive scan also allows images to be transmitted in full frame mode. The brightness can be adjusted quickly and uniformly too, even in rapidly changing light conditions. Thanks to the larger dynamic range, the details remain easily recognisable even in scenes with large contrast discrepancies. This comes into its own for contre-jour shots or endoscopic applications with selective lighting.

Numerous functions for the professional user

The new GP-US932 camera system with progressive scan provides an extensive range of applications for the profession user, made possible via the introduction of a host of new features. The 12-axis colour matrix, for example, allows individual colour ranges to be precisely adjusted. Images can be reproduced in fine detail over the entire frequency spectrum by sharpening the low-frequency parts of an image. This allows images to be shown in fine detail in cases where it really matters, for example in endoscopic applications. In addition, the camera features a variable zoom, still image capture and high light sensitivity for noise-free images.

For ease of use an on-screen menu is used to control the micro camera, alternatively, it can be operated using the unit's front keypad or the RS-232C interface. The camera allows three pre-programmed settings to be saved, making the switch between different users or frequently changed applications quick and simple.

High definition available as OEM components

Panasonic also offers the core components of the new HD micro camera system as OEM. The camera head, controller unit and control board as well as signal cable are available in different lengths. All Panasonic components are compatible with one another and feature a number of interfaces for integration with larger systems.

The 60Hz version of the GP-US932 HD micro camera system is now available from Panasonic dealers.
